I was approached by Six01 in early 2019 to begin work on style frame and general look development for a series of upcoming fully animated retrowave inspired tire advertisements. The goal of the project was to create buzz and excitement for Yokohama’s upcoming line of geolander and ascend series tires.
The idea was to showcase various short animated scenes to showcase the handling capabilities for o these new tires in their natural environments, one being through the rainy night time streets of some retro-wave inspired neon city, the other being a dusk time run off a crowded highway in to a glowing forest trail. The inspiration we were to use was to be from sun baked synth music and retro wave 80’s inspired neon colours.
I worked closely with six01 to create the initial look development for these spots.

SOCIAL TEASERS
Another phase of the project was to actually develop the leading up teasers to generate excitement for the upcoming animated shorts that were being developed at a different studio.
I managed to create some of the social content as well, the examples below are taken from that.
